In The Darkness I Could Hear Your Voice…

A premiere NFT combines the integrated abstract painterly work by Donna Isham and the ambient sonic scape by her husband, legendary Grammy award winning, Academy Award nominated electronic pioneer, Mark Isham.  In their initial foray into the NFT universe, they create a unique experience for the viewer which visually and sonically heightens the senses.

Mark and Donna have long been inspired by kinetic art, performance installation art and the interrelationship between fine art and sound. and a deep understanding of this tremendous impact.  The pair share a deep understanding of this tremendous capability and impact and have long been searching for an artistic channel through which to merge creative efforts. This NFT was the perfect vehicle to explore combining paintings that are abstract with music that is evocative and that add movement, creating the perfect swell and the perfect illusion amidst this perfectly timed opportunity.

In The Darkness I Could Hear Your Voice explores the gray area between the still image and moving pictures. The opportunity presents itself to explore a visual and sonic landscape in which time is present but does not demand a viewer’s constant attention. Time can stand still - it can race forward - but it is a unique and personal experience for each observer.

Mark, a collector and user of vintages synthesizers, created this piece on a collection of vintage synthesizers including the ARP 2600, arp 2500, Mog modular, Prophet 5, and Fendor Rhodes with a maestro ring modulator.  Isham says, “ambient music for me creates a sense of space for the listener.  A new environment with which to experience emotions unique to each individual.”

Donna created the original piece using oil, acrylic and R &F handmade oil sticks.  She then wanted to add motion so that the emotions imbued in the artwork could begin to morph through further manipulation.  She wanted to show a story beyond the canvas, the whispers in that darkness.  “There is something thrilling to add continuous thrust in a work, making it uniquely individual.  With this piece a viewer gathers a sense of wonder as the lines and space interact and the painting degenerates and regenerates. the senses are rebirthed, as one ends the other begins. That’s Life. Samsara. “

If you ask me what I came to do in this world, I, an artist, will answer you: I am here to live out loud.
